I’m a PCA Presbyterian. Served as a deacon for 15 years.
The short answer is … yes; they will hold men accountable.
There’s no such thing as a perfect denomination. If there were, I’d join it and ruin it. But in my experience with the PCA church, we have remained true to Scripture.
Have you ever looked into or considered Lutheran theology?
As I have read and followed your writings and Ministry over the years I have thought to myself multiple times that you should just become Lutheran and that would solve a lot of your conflict with the "reformed" world
Foster has repeatedly lamented the reformed world's inability to do anything but in fight and tear at each other's throats about small theological differences.
Conservative Lutheran theology makes a point to maintain the plane reading and interpretation of scripture and while we would acknowledge our theological differences we would readily recognize the reformed as a close Ally in the fierce fight going on right now and our brother in Christ, something the reformed seemed to be incapable of doing even with their own.
Hey, I didn’t mean to offend ya man. I’m very familiar with Lutherans and Lutheranism - and if anything, it’s you guys who are hyper nitpicks toward us. I’ve seen 101 times where a Reformed guy wants to be friends but the Lutheran absolutely will not allow it. For one thing, you guys would be welcomed to commune in our churches, but it would not go the other way 9/10 times.
Oh, I'm certainly not offended. And you are right about the sacraments. I have no problem with theological or denominational divides either. I was just curious if Foster had heard of or given any thought to Lutheran theology. Often it seems like the reformed world has never heard of us.
The LCMS faces all the same problems and has many of the same flaws as most every other large conservative denomination. But we do not fight with each other like the reformed.
As a former member(In good standing) of a PCA church for over 6 years I would be amazed if you were able to stand true to your beliefs and convictions in the PCA. I also do not think they would be tolerant of you.
I have followed you since the beginning of your "it's good to be a man podcast" and have benefited from, and appreciated your work the entire time!

Sincere question: how would embracing a sub-biblical confession (Lutheranism) solve a Reformed church's problems?
Your comment is a perfect example.

God bless you in your quest.
