This is almost exactly what my childhood Saturdays and Sundays looked like- except we had cold cereal on Sunday morning. Now in my 30s and new to being a wife and mother, I’m learning how much discipline and thought go into what seemed a completely natural rhythm.

Thanks for sharing. When does Sunday lunch typically get cooked?

Wonderful post! I like practical posts like this on how to live as a Christian.

You might ask your husband to study and consider and teach you what the Bible says about dressing fancy for church.

The whole family generally dresses up on Sunday.

It's always worth studying to see where tradition diverges from the Scriptures.

Pretty studied on it. We talked about stuff like that a lot back in the It's Good to Be a Man days. What is your favorite written resource on the subject?

I've listened to all of the episodes and would appreciate more. My favorite written resources on this subject are 1 Timothy 2:9–10 and 1 Peter 3:3–4.

For us, IGTBAM is complete. I love those Scriptures. Is there any other written works outside of Scripture you've found particularly helpful?

Biblical Gender Roles has worthwhile looks at them, although I suspect you will dislike them. At the moment I don't recall anyone else who has written on this subject in light of these passages.

Matthew 22:11-12: "But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless."Matthew 22:13: "Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’"

If you think that means to dress up for church, you are grossly mistaken.
