Good article. I was thinking we could add the sure resurrection of our bodies to the list (through the union we have with Christ—soul and body). Kind of an eschatological, now-and-not-yet angle of the kingdom applied to our physical health.
It can also be derived from the idea of good stewardship and the wrongness of dissipation. Our bodies are assets God has given us. Some people are richer in their bodies, some poorer, but each should take appropriate care. Your body is not yours to waste. And you may not wreck it for pleasure, whether the pleasure of drugs or the pleasure of sloth or the pleasure of eating.
How do you view this for a postpartum mother? I'm 2 months pp and am feeling like I should be doing more to lose the extra baby weight. I know I need more calories to feed the baby, but trying to balance that with getting stronger again physically seems to be out of reach. My husband did say he doesn't think I need to rush to be "fit" again, this is just a "season," so I am also trying to respect his view as well.

That's a great point!
